Soft Tissue Therapy

What is it?

Soft Tissue Therapy is a person centred approach for the assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation of minor and chronic musculoskeletal injuries & pain. 


Assessment through a consultation form, our initial conversation, and observation of movement.  This allows me to rule out red flags, & formulate a plan to work together towards your goals. 


Treatment using a range of techniques including massage & movement, cupping, dry needling, sharing knowledge and advice, reassurance & support.


Rehabilitation through a personalised programme using active, functional  movement  you will regain confidence, mobility and strength resulting  in a full and speedy recovery.

Who is it for?

Treatments are suitable for all ages and levels of activity. You  don't have to be a sports person to feel the benefits of Soft Tissue Therapy. Injuries, pain, muscular tension, stress & fatigue can all affect all of us whether we are:

Sports Massage

Running, cycling, swimming, team sports, gym, whatever you enjoy, exercise is a fantastic way to look after our bodies and minds. However, we can be left feeling a bit sore and tired at times feeling like we are not able to perform our best.   Sports Massage is a great was to reduce aches and pains and calm everything down after physical activity. Whether it be helping you in your preparation for you next big event, or supporting you in achieving and maintaining your fitness goals, tailored massage treatments including mobilisations and movement are a great addition to your program. 

Sports Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone treatments relax muscle tissue and ease tension making it a great addition to a sports massage treatment.  Warm basalt stones are used to heat the therapists hands and applied directly the skin using oils providing deep muscle relaxation.  If you have never experienced hot stones massage you are missing out!  Please let me know if you want to book a Hot Stones Sports Massage as time is needed to heat the stones prior to the appointment. 

Treatments for Relaxation

You don't need to be in pain to benefit from a treatment. If you need some time out, these treatments are deeply relaxing and calming for both body & mind.  Relieving symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression.  Book the length treatment you require & we will discuss your requirements during the consultation. 


Hot Stones Massage

If you haven't experienced Hot Stones massage you are missing a treat.  Add the Hot Stones to any relaxing massage treatment for a deeply relaxing experience. 


Warmed basalt stones are used to heat the therapists hands, and used directly onto the skin with oils for a relaxing massage.  The lovely warmth helps to ease tensions away and induce a state of calm.  Treatments can be for back, neck & legs and are suitable for both men & women. 


Please let me know at the time of booking if you would like Hot Stones as time is needed to heat the stones prior to the appointment.  

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is a lovely holistic treatment to promote relaxation. It's an opportunity to take time for yourself.  The treatment focuses on addressing the unique physical and emotional changes that occur during pregnancy, and can help alleviate common discomforts due to altered posture and the increased weight of the uterus as baby grows. 

Pregnancy massage is completely safe throughout the whole pregnancy.  If you are having any complications during the pregnancy such as bleeding please check with your midwife before booking your appointment. 

Benefits of Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage therapy has been shown to offer numerous benefits for both the mother and baby, such as reducing stress and anxiety, and reducing blood pressure. The release of endorphines helps to promote restful sleep.  Massage can bring relief from aches & pains including lower back pain, hip & pelvic pain, aching feet and legs, neck & shoulder tension.  Postpartum massage therapy is also offered to help new mums recover and regain their strength and energy.

What to expect

Treatments can be carried out in a number of positions depending on your preference and tailored for your preference.  The aim to to keep you feeling as supported and "weightless" as possible to promote a deeply relaxing experience.  Each treatment is tailored to your needs.  Treatments can include back, neck, scalp, shoulder, arms, hands, legs, feet & bump.   Longer massage strokes are used to promote relaxation, and deeper work is avoided.
